Here are the Facts and History of KCA University Kenya. KCA University dates back to 1989, with the establishment of the institution as Kenya College of Accountancy by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) to improve the quality of accountancy and financial management training in the country.
The college was founded after a study conducted by Chart Foulks Lynch CIPFA services of the UK in 1987/88.
The study revealed that the Kenyan economy required an additional four hundred qualified Accountants every year.
The output of qualified accountants from the training institutions then was less than one hundred.
On commencement of its services in 1989, it enrolled 170 students but this number tremendously increased over the years and today, enrollment stands at over 15,000 students annually.
To maintain a national outlook, the institution opened satellite colleges in Githunguri,Kericho, Eldoret and Kisumu all now under the School of Professional Programmes.
Applicants should ensure that they meet the minimum requirements for the course they wish to enroll.

The Path to KCA University
• The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) set up Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) in May 1989.
• The dream of becoming a university was discussed and agreed in a strategic plan retreat in 1997.
• Collaboration agreement with JKUAT and later UNISA Universities in offering their degree programmes were signed in the year 2000. Diversified to academic programmes.
• Applied to the Commission for Higher Education to offer our own degree programmes. First inspection held in the year 2000.
• In the year 2002, established satellite colleges in Kisumu and Githunguri as part of the broad strategy of bringing business education to the rural areas. Enrollment increased to over 10,000 students yearly. •
• KCA University was established as a private university vide a gazette notice No. 6895 and shall be the successor to the institution hitherto known as the Kenya College of Accountancy.
• The University offers certificates, diplomas and degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with effect from 26th July 2007.
• The University is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal.
Before the award of a Charter, the legal framework governing the University is the Universities Act (Cap 210B), Trustees (Perpetual Succession) Act (Cap 164), and Trustees Act (Cap 167) and the Trust Deed.
Currently our enrollment stand at over 15,000 students annually.
