Aleksandar the Great Beach Resort

We stayed two nights in Aleksander the Great Beach Resort.

It is a very pleased place located directly at a lonely beach.

The entire Resort was refurbished recently and is maintained in good state.

The management and staff is very friendly and helpful.

Very good food, staff is pleasant, relaxed, clean, very good beach for east Zanzibar (but not that long).

Nice and fresh rooms. Cheap.

You get much for the money on the room, restaurant are more moderate prices (found that on all Zanzibar, food are not that good price).

The fruit juice is my favourite and all the seafood with modern Zanzibar taste!

Other Holiday Hotels, Beach Rentals and Holiday Villas

You can reach the there all time and is not low weather. We found it better than Matemwe.

But be careful when you book hotel in Pongwe, the beach on the other side of the village are very bad, can´t swim.

We change to this hotel after 1 night. It´s a small hotel and you feel almost alone on paradise.

Pongwe don´t have people that try to sell things to you all the time on the beach, its very silent. No party. The village is poor and most people work as fisherman.
