Hotel Chez Lando met us at the airport with a waiting vehicle. When all the luggage fit, but not all of the people, Hotel Chez Lando returned to the airport for a second trip free of charge to ensure we all arrived.
Our rooms were very clean - with nice amenities such as television, sitting chairs, newspapers, toiletries, and hot water in each room.
The front desk was helpful in both coordinating a vehicle to take us to the National Genocide Memorial and in exchanging money.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to others staying in Kigali. It felt very safe, even in a ground floor room.
Not far from the airport but also near interesting locations in Kigali this hotel is a wonderful place to stay whether you are on business or pleasure.
Unlike the intense, busy, apartment building-like grand hotels in many African capitals, this one is a bit like some of the house-compound hotels in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The family of the late moderate political leader Landoald Ndasingwa built this complex slowly over the years from the popular family restaurant of the same name, by adding adjacent properties as they became available.
The rooms are disposed around a number of brick paved courtyards with lush gardens dripping with lovely vegetation and shaded with expansive tree crowns.
The birds calls echo through the gardens and pathways all day long.
The rooms have balconies or patios, tiled floors and large bathrooms with tubs, showers, and lots of hot water.
Breakfast, included, is up above in a separate building whose terrace looks over part of the city.
I've not tried the restaurant but it is well-patronized by locals and visitors alike. The employees are extremely polite and helpful and friendly
