Meru is a savanna National Park, part of the domain made famous by the writings of Joy Adamson, Laikipia is a unique and high quality tourism destination for the benefit of all Laikipia tourism operations and the people of Laikipia.
Day 1:Early in the morning transfer to Nairobi-Wilson airport for flight to Meru National Park.
On arrival at Meru National Park you will be transferred to Elsa's Kopje Camp for lunch with a game drive en- route.
Elsa's Kopje is almost invisible to the eye as you approach its home on Mughwango Hill in Meru National Park.
It blends into the rocky crags of the 'kopje' (small hill), built very near to the site of George Adamson's original campsite.
After lunch proceed for afternoon game drive till sunset. Dinner and Overnight at Elsa's Kopje Camp.
Day 2: Take an early morning guided walk in the bush or take an extended game drive with picnic breakfast to explore the many rivers transecting the park.
The untamed wilderness of Meru National Park is renowned for its Elephant herds, rare northern endemic species with fantastic flora and changing terrain.
Return to lodge for lunch and later afternoon game drive till sunset.
Day 3: After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for private charter flight to Loisaba Private Wilderness, arriving at Loisaba lodge in time for lunch.
After lunch, afternoon game drive, exploring vast tracts of unspoilt areas in Loisaba wilderness, observe the wildlife and take in the dramatic scenery. Dinner and overnight at Loisaba Lodge.
Day 4: After an early breakfast walk from the Lodge into the valley taking in the panoramic views and if you are lucky, observe the shy Greater Kudu browsing on the slopes, finally down to the Starbeds where your hosts are Samburu Warriors will serve you a sumptuous lunch.
Later proceed a for game drive on the plains tracking the lions and other game. Return early evening to a roaring camp fire and dinner by candle light, before retiring to your platform for blissful sleep under the canopy of the African sky.
Day 5: After an early breakfast head across to the other starbeds on foot, on camels or by 4 wheel drive while the morning is still cool, follow the evening tracks and signs left by the wildlife, still fresh in the soft earth, catch the brilliant colours of birdlife feeding from the trees, the busy insects flitting from plant to plant, time is of no essence.
Enjoy cool drinks under the shade of a gnarled acacia tree. You can choose to walk, trek with camels or raft along the meandering river.
Day 6: After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for flight back Nairobi to connect with your flight back home.
