Lake Manyara Serena Lodge

The room at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge was clean, and adequate. The meals were good as well.

The best thing of all was that we had left the lodge in our safari van and had gone about 4 miles down the road when a man on a motorcycle caught up with us and told us someone had left their camera bag at the lodge.

We turned around and retrieved the camera and bag back at the lodge that he had inadvertently left there.

How thoughtful to send someone to chase us down and return the property--made our trip even more special!

Ask for a good view from the room. The views over the Rift Valley, across the Lake are very memorable.

The infinity pool is a real bonus, especially after a dusty, hot ride in the jeep around the park.

The food was very good considering the isolated position. Do make allowances for the odd hiccup...you are in the middle of Africa, not in the centre of London or New York.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful...they always had a cheery "Jambo" for you. Recommended.

The hotel is situated at the top of a hill over looking Lake Manyara. It is a very pretty hotel

Food was good, it was an African buffet the night we were there. I'd had African food in the other hotels but there it was a single choice on a menu of European food

The Lodge commands panoramic views across the volcano-studded floor of the Great Rift Valley.

The buildings are based on a traditional circular design to help them blend into the landscape and the interior was inspired by the abundant bird life of Lake Manyara.

An afternoon by the amazingly located pool and a sundowner drink from the poolside bar are moments that will stay deeply engrained in your memory.
