Lake Manyara Tented Camp is located close to but outside Lake Manyara park. Lying in a shallow depression of the Great Rift valley,
Lake Manyara National Park spreads out across the valley, the alkaline lake dominating a vast landscape.
Often called Tanzania's water wonderland due to the large number of birds and animals the lake supports,
Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions often to be found dozing in the shade up in the branch of a tree is a unique phenomenon to the area.
Lake Manyara Tented Camp is located close to but outside Lake Manyara park.
The camp is nestled away in a quiet corner of 35 acres of acacia forest and A-frame style tents are placed around a central glade, offering privacy but still only a short walk to the restaurant and bar.
In the early evening guests can enjoy a night drive in an open game drive vehicle with very knowledgeable guides offering a chance to see nocturnal creatures not normally seen during the day such as porcupines, bush babies, bush buck, hippos, mongoose, civets and a number of nocturnal birds.
Also at night, the famous 'tree climbing lions' will actually be on the ground, a much better way to view them.
Besides looking at nocturnal birds and mammals the guide will also call up frogs, teach guests more about the fantastic African night skies and point out night sounds in the forest
