Lake Tanganyika Hotel

Having spent a few nights at Lake Tanganyika Hotel almost two years ago when the Lake Tanganyika Hotel was newly opened,

I have been pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel is still being maintained in good condition and a reasonably high standard of service,

the food is pretty average and has to be ordered well in advance of when you would like to eat as it usually takes an hour or more to receive your meal but otherwise no complaints.

This is one among the only two real options for a decent stay in Kigoma. The other being the Hiltop Hotel. The stay at Lake Tanganyika Hotel has been wonderful.

The view outside my balcony or from the patio bar or pool is just breath taking.

The service is good. The rooms are very clean. I think I might be in the suite room, it’s a really large room that's quite well designed.

I only wish if they had a couple of boats of jet ski's to make use of Lake Tanganyika. My colleagues have been staying here on and off for about 2 months now. So it’s become like home, even though I have just been here for 3 days now

The location can't be beat, literally on the banks of the great lake with golden sunsets visible from my room and veranda.

There is an enclosed dining room and an open-air covered patio where meals and drinks may be taken.
