Speke Bay Lodge

Stayed at Speke Bay Lodge in the "middle" of a Safari in northern Tanzania. Pluses were the location which is beautiful right on the Lakeside. The gardens and the birds are lovely, the service was excellent and we were made very welcome, the breakfast provided on the terrace in front of our lodge was excellent and a nice touch.

Speke Bay is clean efficiently run, beautifully located lodge. Rooms were spacious, clean and had lovely views of the lake.

Service was a little servile for my liking but that just my personal taste.

We visited the nearby village by boat and whilst thinking this might possibly been a rather staged tourist experience –

I couldn’t have been more wrong.
